The HSN is an independent nonprofit organization specializing in transportation, highway safety, data collection and analysis. The HSN staff has, for more than 30 years designed, developed and implemented state and national highway safety campaigns, including best practices for occupant protection, youth alcohol, impaired driving, checkpoints, aggressive driving, and police-driven projects.
Our clients and partners included; Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), PA Liquor Control Board, Century Council, International Association of Chiefs of Police, National Sheriffs Association, Governors Highway Safety Association, State Farm Insurance, and many other national, state and local groups and organizations.
The HSN has worked on multiple projects merging highway safety program design and crash and citation data collection to evaluate demonstration projects using proven strategies and proprietary collection tools. Our staff provides our partners and clients with vast knowledge, experience and direct site application to assure quality of deliverables in our grant and contract work.
The Highway Safety Network (HSN) has partnered with Federal, State and Community organizations since 1987 to reduce highway related crashes, injuries, and deaths. The Highway Safety Network is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation dedicated to injury prevention and reduction in the number of traffic related crashes, injuries, and deaths. It is truly a unique organization that bridges the gap between public funding and community service. Through multiple partnerships, it has been possible to secure funding for needed projects and to effectively reach communities, groups and agencies that have the best opportunities to reduce and fulfill the organization’s mission.
The Network has consistently demonstrated its effectiveness in the administration and implementation of Highway Safety Grants/Contracts in communities, multi-county areas, state, and national projects. Currently, the HSN administers 7 Pennsylvania highway safety grants funded though the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and 5 NHTSA sub-contracts for demonstration projects. Twenty-two (22) full-time professional and administrative staff positions are in place to service these projects throughout Pennsylvania.
Through the dedication of the Highway Safety Network’s Board of Directors and Corporate Officers the organization is proud of its life saving accomplishments and looks forward to the new and rewarding future opportunities. Our officers offer many years of traffic safety program, enforcement, administrative and financial experience to the Organization. Meet our Corporate Officers.
